The growth that the Oncology Day Hospital has had over these 10 years is also largely due to the investment in innovative treatments. Our professionals are constantly on the lookout for the best and safest therapeutic options that can increase the survival rate of the disease, which can promote more comfort and well-being.
In this first half of 2021, we managed to be pioneers in some therapies, an achievement that gives us a great deal of satisfaction:
- i) innovative immunotherapy for advanced bladder cancer, able to reduce the risk of mortality by 31%;
- ii) treatment of the first patient in Portugal with Phesgo – Trastuzumab + Pertuzumab, indicated for HER2+ (early and metastatic) breast cancer in subcutaneous administration;
iii) immunotherapy (Nivolumab) associated with chemotherapy for advanced gastric cancer, which aims to improve survival in a disease with poor prognosis, thus constituting a potential “standard of care”.
